Obaseki’s Divide And Rule Manifesting In Edo, As PDP Hard-Liners From Atte Decamp To APC In Akoko Edo LG.

PDP members in Edo precisely Akoko Edo Local government are of the State could no longer cope with the Governor’s inept and crass incompetence exhibited in his leadership styles resort to seeking for a more realistic and safer platform where their voice will be heard.

Atte community is ward 8 in Akoko Edo LG area of Edo State. It houses 3 units of voting centers in any election.

Today 19th of January 2022 at about 1.00 pm, over a hundred PDP faithful drawn from the 3 units in the community came out in large numbers to willingly decamp from the People Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressive Congress (APC).

Spokespersons for the decampees Mr. Friday Balogun, Iyama Emmanuel, and James Emmanuel Ederigba all maintained the same reason for their decision to abandon the PDP which they had been for many years into the progressive APC.

“Over the years we have been a formidable force in PDP here in Atte without anything to show for it, we have worked and toiled for the party but in return, we had nothing and not even appreciation from anywhere. Now we want to associate with a party that has a national outlook so that we can begin to bring in dividends of democracy to and for our community Atte. We are particularly happy with the leadership style of Comrade Peter Ohiozojie Akpatason, Deputy Majority Leader, Federal House of Representatives whose projects and empowerments are spread across the frontier of Akoko Edo LG. Look at our major problem of vehicular inability to access our LG headquarters Igarra occasioned by heavily damaged and severed bridge for example. We have cried times without numbers but subsequent governments have done nothing to ameliorate the hardship. Just now Comrade Akpatason has fixed the Egbigere bridge. It is only natural that we join Comrade Akpatason in APC so that he will remember to remove the spell of severing bridge in our eyes.
