Ododo donates N5 Million for completion of Koton-karfe central mosque — Engr. Bashir Gegu reveals

A Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources and prominent politician from Kogi local government area of the Kogi State, Hon (Engr.) Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, Sunday, announced the 5 million naira donation to Muslim community in Kogi local government area for the completion of the ongoing Central Mosque Project situated in Koton-karfe, administrative headquarters of the council.

Engr. Bashir Gegu said the 5 million naira was donated by the Kogi State All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo in fulfilment of a pledge he made some weeks ago to the people of the area.

Global Times Nigeria reports that Koton-karfe community had embarked on a two storey mosque project, a development that had attracted the Kogi State Governor’s attention leading to his personal donation of 10 million naira to fast track completion of the project.

According to the Governor, the gesture was to thanked  them for the support the area has given him in the last 7 years and above.

The Solid Minerals Commissioner who handed over the money on behalf of APC guber candidate to a political leader in the area, Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu said the donation was made towards completion of the Koton-karfe Central Mosque project.

Some stakeholders present during the donation, includes Executive Chairman of Kogi LGC, Hon Aliyu Dauda, Chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commissioner, Barrister Muhammed Musa Tanko Osuku, serving member representing Koton-Karfe/Kogi federal constituency, Hon Idrees Aliyu Girinya, serving and former political appointees and host of stalwarts who besieged Hon Akawu’s residence to thanked the APC Governorship candidate for aiding the building their mosque.

Responding on behalf of Koton-karfe residents, Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu appreciated the APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo’s kind gesture towards serving Allah (SWA) and humanity, adding that beneficiary community will queue behind his ambition to ensure success at the poll.

Contributing, Chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commissioner, Barr. Muhammed Musa Tanko Osuku who also joined his people in receiving the 5 million naira donation prayed for victory of APC guber candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Barr Tanko, a former administrator of the council assured of the area support at the November 11 election.

In another development, Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency stakeholders met today at Koton-karfe, headquarters of Kogi LGA for a strategy meeting, they said was part of efforts to win the two LGAs for APC guber candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The meeting witnessed high presence of prominent leader from APC within Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency including Senator Sunday Karimi, Hon Sulaiman Baba-Ali, former/serving leaders and host of APC supporters from the two LGAs.
