Nasarawa State government under the leadership of Engineer Abdullahi Sule, Executive Governor has been commended for bringing development closer to rural dwellers.
The Ohimegye of Opanda-Umaisha kingdom in Toto local government area of Nasarawa state, His Royal (Majesty) Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen as part of his Sallah message, shortly after he joined Muslims to observe the two Raka’at prayers to mark the Eid-El- Fitr at the eid prayer ground in Umaisha, Monday.

The first-class monarch said the dislodgement of the armed bandits (Daru-salam) that has formed various camps within his kingdom over the years, has brought a sigh of relief to his subjects that are now sleeping with their two eyes closed.
He also commended the state government for awarding the dualization of the Toto-Umaisha road, which he said was last constructed during the administration of the late governor of the state, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma, which he said has now become a death trap.
Ohimegye equally extended his profound gratitude to his son, a member representing the Umaisha/Ugya constituency and who doubles as Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Balarabe for his unprecedented efforts towards of actualization of the new Toto LG most especially his constituent.
Ohimegye said the Speaker deserves the commendation for his numerous intervention, programs, and governmental policies that has contributed hugely to the development of Toto LG and it’s environ.
He said the award of the road and extension of electricity will boost socio-economic activities in the kingdom.
The monarch, while lamenting over the high cost of living in the country, attributed it to the rise of oil in the international market and urged the government to subsidize the price of oil for the sake of the masses of the country.
“And should the government allow the price of petrol to go up, life will become difficult in this country,” he said.

He, therefore, called on his subjects to continue to live in peace with each other irrespective of their tribe, religious, ethnic, and political affiliation, saying development can only thrive when there is peace and unity in the society.
