Okene Administrator Reads Riot Act to Cultural Union, Suspends Outing of Masquerades

In view of the security situation in the area, Okene Local Government Administrator, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has directed members of Ebira Cultural Union, masqurade custodians, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to henceforth suspend outing of masqurades of any kind under any guise within the juridisction of Okene Local Government Area.

The security conscious Administrator gave the directive at a security meeting between the Council Administrator, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad, leadership of Ebira Cultural Union and heads of security agencies in Okene to review security reports and take appropriate measures.

A press release signed by the Special Assistant to the Administrator of the local government, said, people have been cautioned not to dare the will of government but adhere strictly to government’s directive as anyone found to have disobeyed this directive irrespective of their position will face the full wrath of the law.

The Council Administrator maintained that government placed the security of lives and property of the citizenry as a matter of top priority and will take every measures within the ambit of the law to ensure the relative peace currently enjoyed in the Local Government is sustained.

On this note, security agencies have been detailed and stationed accordingly to implement this directive.
