One Year on the throne: HRH, Chief Jonah Okai Drisu Ekpo, The Onu Obocho recorded unprecedented development.
HRH Chief Jonah Okai Drisu Ekpo is the Onu Obocho, Biraidu district of Dekina local government area of Kogi State and has clocked one year on the throne of his forebears where peace, unity and development is said to have characterized his reigns.
Abocho community/Biraidu district have witnessed accelerated changes and development since ascension of HRH, Chief Jonah Okai Drisu Ekpo as the 28th Onu Abocho to the throne of his forther
Chief Jonah Okai Drisu Ekpo has been able to record the following achievements within a short time on the throne.
1. Construction and Rehabilitation of water Borehole. As part of the strategies to expand water supply for the community, a borehole located in Ajekeya-Abocho that has been down for over 2 decades has been brought back to life by Chief Jonah Okai Drisu Ekpo.
2. Provision of supports for some community programmes. Several community programmes like voters registration awareness, National Identification Number, National Population mapping exercises were facilitated by HRH, Chief Jonah Okai Drisu Ekpo. The logistics for the officials of these programmes were personally provided by HRH.
3. Renovation and Rehabilitation of Primary Health Center. The purpose of this was to enhance the provision of improved health and medical services for the people of the community
4. Payment of Hospital bills for so many less privileged individuals in the community. Several individuals who could not pay their hospital bills were being assisted by HRH.
5. Resolution of Conflicts/disputes. Since his assumption on the throne, HRH, has intervened in several communal and land disputes.
6. Relative/stable peace. Since HRH, Chief Jonah Okai Drisu Ekpo assumed throne of Onu Abocho, Abocho Community/Biraidu district have enjoyed relative peace and security.
