Opposition completely dead in Kogi LG – Kogi Solid Minerals Commissioner, Engr. Bashir Gegu

Kogi State Commissioner of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engineer Muhammed Bashir Abubakar Gegu, says the leadership of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kogi local government area of the State is overwhelmed and in joyous mode after receiving hundreds of opposition remnants ranging from People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Labour Party, LP, and All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, mainly of the Gbagyis tribe in the area.
The Commissioner disclosed that the Kogi LG benefitted hugely from the present administration in the areas of infrastructure, human capital development, health, agriculture and relative peaceful coexistence, which he said the opposition saw good reason to join the ruling party as to work for her success in the coming election.

Engr. Bashir Gegu disclosed on Saturday during the camping ceremony of Gbagyis stakeholders and others from PDP to the All Progressives Congress in Gegu Beki district of Kogi LG.

The philanthropist cum politician maintained that there was no more opposition in the State due largely to Governor Yahaya Bello people’s oriented projects that superseded successive administrations in a few years out of 31 years of the State’s creation.
“The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, under the amiable Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is in total control, he has transformed the State beyond the expectation of the citizens.”
“Sincerely speaking, Governor Yahaya Bello-led administration has restored hopes and confidence through various intentions ranging from being security consciousness, infrastructure, education, health, agriculture and human capital development among others.

The Gegu-born politician said politics is social engineering to bring value to your people and that exactly what the present administration stands for, Yahaya Bello stands for fairness, and equity and you’re are all living witnesses to his transformational agenda over the years.
He called on the Gbagyis nation to mobilise their voters to key into the Project of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential ticket and all other APC standard bearers from State House of Assembly to Senate in the upcoming elections.
Speaking earlier the Chairman of the APC in Kogi LG, Hon. Abubakar Onah said Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Executive Governor of Kogi State is a movement and political party on its own being adopted by the citizens of the State irrespective of region and tribal difference.
Onah said Bello’s success in all ramifications is a manifestation that God answered their prayer noting that they prayed that He takes away all liabilities and replaces them with political assets.
“What we experiencing today is an equivocal manifestation that our prayers have been answered by God, APC is on a voyage of splendour. We have given a fatal blow to oligarchy and we have sent the opposition into a state of oblivion,” he said.
On his part, Mr Godwin Shana, who is the youth leader of the Gbagyi speaking tribe in Kogi LG led 19 different Associations from opposition to the ruling party in an appreciation of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide them with much-needed leadership.

According to Shana, the Gbagyis people of the Gegu south decided to dump their former party for the ruling APC given the good governance delivered by Governor Yahaya Bello.
“We joined the APC for two reasons, integrity and antecedent of the political of Kogi LG, his leadership inform their decision to be part of Gov Yahaya Bello.”
”We are coming into the APC for obvious reasons one is for integrity, which Governor Bello has affirmed in different fora that he believes in equal distribution of wealth and by extension one of our Sister is by the grace of Almighty God serving as Executive Chairperson of the Kogi LG, Hon. Mrs Hassana Jezhi Bako.
He describes the governor as a man of proven integrity and whose time has come.
“We are committed to supporting the Governor to finish all his laudable projects embark in the area and across the State.” He said.
