Indications have shown that the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for Dekina Biraidu constituency candidate has chicken out in the next Kogi State House of Assembly election.
A political analyst from the area, Mr Abdul Omale said the major opposition party in the state has remain cold despite the election’s date that is fast approaching.
According to him, several party members have started losing hope in the flag bearer of the party, Honorable Andrew Egbunu whom he alleged to have developed snail movement towards achieving his mandate.
His words ” you know we are in the opposition. Definitely we are and we knew how the current ruling party APC does when they were in the opposition. The flagbearer for our local government has put of an attitude of indifference towards issues tel to the party and his mandate. If he continue this way, we might likely loose the election”
Mr Omale maintained that several of the party members who were initially tired of the failures of the ruling APC are now contemplating to fall back due to frustration and lukewarm attitude displayed by their candidate.
The analyst emphasised that the PDP flagbearer has always been irresponsive to issues concerning to the party, absence and functions and in recent time refused to organized a political meeting.
Similarly ,another party loyalist from the area, Hajia Rabietu Tijani said the party needs to brace up for the challenges ahead.
According to her, PDP in the area are still living in a state of disillusionment , adding that they behave as if they are in power.
She urged all the flagbearer of the party to wake up before it is too late.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach the PDP flagbearer of the party for Dekina Biraidu constituency, Honourable Andrew Egbunu has remained abortive.
