PDP Primaries: Tambuwal promises to revive Ajaokuta Steel Company

Sokoto state Governor and Presidential aspirant for the 2023 election under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has promised to resuscitate and complete the Ajaokuta Steel Company in Kogi State.

Addressing 92 delegates from Kogi State to the PDP convention that will decide the flag bearer on Monday in Lokoja, the Presidential Aspirant said the abandoned and uncompleted Ajaokuta Steel project has caused the country inestimable economic loss and rendered it it it thousands of the youths unemployed.

He said with the revival of the Steel project, Kogi State and the entire nation will be transformed economically, and socially as industries will spring up across the country.

Why promising to transform the economy, Tambuwal said Kogi State is the home of several minerals and agricultural resources will be given special attention.

The aspirant, therefore, urged the delegates to be patriotic during the convention to support other Nigerians to ensure he pick the ticket so that a new social order and good governance will be ushered into Nigeria.

He noted with regret that despite the availability of natural resources, Kogi lacks everything necessary for good leaving.

Tambuwal, a Harvard graduate who was a one-time Speaker of the House of Representatives, said he is a better technocrat with positive experiences to govern Nigeria.

According to the former Lawmaker, he has friends and acquaintances in the 774 local government areas of the country.

He told the delegates that he is a partner and not their boss who will enter into discussions any time anywhere, assuring that his victory on the 29 Maymarksrk the end of the ruling APC.

Tambuwal also stated that the APC is in a state of confusion as it lacks where to pick its candidate from.

In his remarks, former Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, said leadership is ordained by God.

Chairman, Tambuwal Campaign Organisation, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, expressed confidence in the Aspirant given his credentials in politics, economy, and capacity.
