Peace is a strong tool for development to thrive, we must work hard to sustain it- Ohimegye Opanda declared
The Ohimegye Opanda and Chairman Toto local government traditional council of chiefs, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi has rejoiced with populace of Kingdom for witnessing yet another Ramadan Fast and Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
The monarch described this year’s Eid-el – Fitr celebration as peacefully and successfully in the area considering the large turnout of people who return home for the festive.
The Two unit congregational prayers which was held at the central EID ground Umaisha was conducted by the Chief Imam of the area who is the Khadi Shariah Court of Appeal, Lafia Nasarawa State Hon. Justice Muhammed Yahaya Usman.
The Clergy spoke extensively on the benefits drivable from Zaka’atul – Fitr, a compulsory charitable donation that climax the Ramadan Fast, urging believers not to deviate from Islamic tenants and essence of the celebration just as special prayers for the area, state and the country at large was conducted.
Shortly after the prayers, the people converged at Ohimegye’s Palace to pay royal homage to the traditional ruler.
The First Class Monarch Ohimegye Opanda Umaisha, HRH Alh. Usman Abdullahi congratulated the Muslim community for successfully completion of the Ramadan fast and called for sober reflection just as he urged the people to embrace farming to its fullest, sustain peace, unity and be security conscious at all times.

On their parts, the Executive Chairman Toto LG Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas and the Overseer Umaisha Development Area Hon. Iliyasu Usman Miryam commended the leadership qualities of Ohimegye Opanda and called on the people of the area to sustain the existing peace.
The duo who are in the Palace for Sallah Homage called on the people to support government and leaders at all levels to succeed.
