Polls: FCT Minister drums support for Tinubu, Dobi, Ajiya, Abu Zari

The minister of state for FCT, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has drummed support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima for the February 25th 2023 general election in the territory.

She also urged residents of the FCT to ensure they come out in their large numbers to vote for APC senatorial candidate, Alhaji Zakari Angulu Dobi, house of representative candidates for both AMAC /Bwari and Abuja south federal constituencies, Abu Zari and Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya respectively.

Aliyu, who spoke at the APC presidential campaign council mega rally held at eagle square in Abuja, on Saturday, called on the residents of the FCT to come out en-mass to vote for the party from top to bottom.

She noted that the mega rally was not only to drum up support for the candidates but also to emphasised the importance of the general elections.

She, however, used the occasion to highlight Tinubu’s achievements as a former governor of Lagos state and his commitment to the development of Nigeria.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a visionary leader who has a proven track records of delivering results for the people. He has transformed Lagos state into a thriving hub of economic activities and has always put the needs of the people first,” she said.

The minister assured that as the election draws near, the APC would continue to reach out to the people at the grassroots, even as she made case for why Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the right leader to take Nigeria forward.

In his remarks, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, thanked the people of the FCT for their support and urged them to continue to work together to build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

He also stressed the importance of a peaceful and transparent election, while calling on all Nigerians to uphold the principles of democracy by ensuring that their votes are counted.

Earlier, the state chairman of APC in the FCT, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, stressed on the need for the party’s stakeholders to come together to work for the victory of Bola Ahmed Tibunu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima as well as national assembly candidates under the platform of the party on February 25, 2023 election in the territory.

He said the ruling APC under president Muhammadu Buhari has performed credibly well especially in the area of infrastructures, saying APC is a party to beat in the FCT.

He expressed confident that the ruling APC will deliver all its candidates during the February 25 election in the territory, even as he called on those who have not collected their PVC’s should ensure they do so.

Our correspondent report report that, the APC rally in the FCT witnessed massive turn out of supporters and members across the six area councils with the party’s message of hope and change resonating with the people.
