The Grand Patron, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation, SAAF, Alhaji (Prince) Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has commissioned renovated United Basic Education (UBE) Junior Secondary School school in Ilai community, Mopamuro local government area of Kogi State.
The two renovated block of classrooms project was initiated by the Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation with sole aim to improve and provide a conducive learning environment to the community.
Men, women, pupils and other members of Ilai Community rolled out drums, sang and danced to their melodious local songs as Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, his United Nations (UN) Special Envoy, Mr. Philip Bonn Africa Edward and other members of his entourage could not hold back their joy as they also made moves to dance to the tunes.
The UBE JSS school, renovated by the Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation (SAAF), was part of the Foundation’s efforts at meeting one of her three core mandates; Empowerment, Healthcare services and Education intervention programs.
Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu while addressing the crowd said seeing smiles on the faces of the people of the Community, especially the pupils, brought unexplainable joy to his heart and commended Members of the Foundation for judiciously spending the resources for the purpose intended.
Prince Shuaibu noted that the people at the grassroots deserves a better life and access to quality education, calling on the school management and the people of the Community to take ownership of the Education facility.
He said the importance of Education in the 21st Century cannot be overemphasized, hence the need to ensure the downtrodden gain access to education.
Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu enjoined the pupils to take their education more serious to enable them make their parents and the society proud in the nearest future.
An elated traditional ruler of the Area showered prayers on the SAAF Grand Patron and commended his efforts at renovating the school through his Foundation.
The Principal, Universal Basic Education (UBE) Junior Secondary School Ilai in Mopamuro LGA, Mr. Joshua, appreciated Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu for coming to the aid of the school by creating a conducive teaching and learning environment.
Mr. Joshua said the renovation was an answer to the prayers of the management of the school who have been yearning for a facelift of the school and prayed God to continue to protect Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu in all his ways.
Highlight of the event include cultural display by the pupils, performance by Hunters in the Area, inspection of the renovated school, among others.
