Public Service Award; Sen. Ashafa, MD. FHA Congratulates Fashola, Works and Housing Minister.

By ABUBAKAR YUSUF.: The Managing Director, Federal Housing Authority FHA , Senator Gbenga Ashafa has felicitated with the Minister of Works, Housing and Urban Development, Babatunde Raji Fashola on his conferment by President Muhammadu Buhari, the public service award.

 

Ashafa also used the opportunity to extend good wishes to the Minister having bagged national honors of Commander of the order of the Niger, CON , saying the two most prestigious recognition in a row was evidence of hard work, diligence and zeal to deliver to Nigerians good leadership.

Senator Gbenga Ashafa dropped this message on Friday after the conferement of the public service award on the Minister, stating the obvious that the tempo of goal getting foundation laid by the Minister while serving as Lagos state Governor was still fresh.

The Managing Director said the anxiousness of the Minister to bequeath good leadership was evidenced in the Ministry in the last seven years, with massive renovation, reconstruction and opening up of new federal roads, Mass Housing across the country, urban renewal and development, as well as muted the ongoing reforms in the power sector before the creation of substantive Ministry of Power .

He says no doubt the improved power supply being enjoyed by Nigerians today was the foundation laid down by the former Lagos state Governor while handling the affairs of the Power Ministry.

“We are now enjoying all round power supply for between 16hrs to 20hrs in Nigeria in recent times, compared to as low as 4hrs to 6hrs”.

“The construction of major federal roads abandoned for decades was another giant strides of the Minister that was worth recognition.”

He congratulated the Minister for sustaining the tempo of development and replicating Lagos model across the country, saying the solid foundation will move Nigeria to high pedestal of development when sustained.
