With the discovery of political partisanship of the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, an international election monitor, Ambassador Hamza Lawal has urged the Presidency and National Assembly to relieve him of his post immediately.

Ambassador Lawal who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Connect Development, (CODE) made the call on Saturday in Okene, Kogi state, in an interview with Journalists.
Lawal who was in Okene for the 25th coronation anniversary of the Ohinoyi of Egbira land, Dr. Ado Ibrahim held at his palace, noted with suspicion that there’s Refueled might have played when electoral materials were in his custody during elections.
“The job of the Central Bank as the custodian of the economy is too sensitive to be left in the hands of a politician as his decision would be colored by political considerations.” Ambassador Lawal said.

He said Emefiele’s recent attempt to contest Presidential primaries has exposed him to be a politician and should therefore be removed to enable him to focus on his political career.
He urged the President to act fast by either asking him to resign or sack him outrightly, or the national assembly should pass a vote of no confidence in him for dabbling into politics while he is still the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
“As for me, I have already passed a vote of no confidence in him as the economy has witnessed a downward trend since he took over the CBN over seven years ago”.
While congratulating the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land Dr. Abdulrahman Ado Ibrahim on the 25th anniversary on the throne, Ambassador Lawal recommended that traditional rulers be given more roles to play in governance.
He said since the Traditional rulers were ” very close to the grassroot, they should also be assigned sensitive roles to administer.
” The traditional rulers should be given more roles that would enable them adequately supervise and enhance the security architecture of their areas of jurisdiction.”

He, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to rally around their traditional rulers and give them maximum cooperation for them to succeed in n discharging their duties.
