Sallah: FOMWAN distributes clothes, food stuffs to orphans, widows in Kwali

Ahead of Friday, Eid -el-kabir sallah celebration, the Kwali area council chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) has distributed clothes and stuff stuffs to orphans and widows in the area.
The Amira of FOMWAN, Malama Aisha Bukar, while presenting the items at Kwali town hall on Sunday, said the gesture was an annual event where the association give support to the less privilege and downtrodden in the area.
She said the association is putting smile on the faces of over 300 orphans and 100 widows across the ten political wards of the council through given them food stuffs and wrappers to enable them celebrate upcoming the Eid -kabir sallah.
According to her, the association has so far been able to also pay school fees of orphans in both senior and junior secondary schools in the area, through the support of the chairman of council, Danladi Chiya, Dr Yahaya Sani and Hajiya Ramatu Auwal Ibrahim.
She added that the association held its Hijab week, in which she said a sum of N380,000 expended to impact on women in the area and appreciated the a former INEC residents electoral commissioner, Halilu Pai for also his support to the association.
Bukar, however, noted that the association encountered some challenges in the course of struggling to solicit support for the orphans and widows in the area.
She also appreciated Babakafi foundation in Abuja, for sponsoring 13 orphans in both senior and junior secondary schools as well as two in primary school, while she called on corporate organizations and government agencies to support the less privilege ones in the society.

Also speaking, the patron of FOMWAN in the area, Alhaji Saidu Adamu Ashara, commended the efforts of the association towards their yearly support to the orphans and widows in the area.
He called on the government, corporate organizations and individuals to emulate to give support to the less privilege ones, saying there is always rewards for anyone who give support the less privilege ones in the society.
