…..Lauds Security agencies for being proactive towards keeping vigil in Toto LG.
As parts of efforts to combat crime and criminal activities, the Chairman Toto Local Government council, Hon Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, has presented two cars to the Vigilantes Group of Nigeria, Toto local government chapter.
A statement released on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Media and Communications to the Chairman, Yahaya Idris Toto, said in furtherance to sustain the relative peace currently enjoyed in the area, the Council Chairman Hon Abdullahi Tashas purchased and has donated two Saloon golf cars to Vigilantes Group of Nigeria in the area.
He said the two vehicles were presented to them at the local government secretariat in the presence of his executive council members, deputy chairman, Council Leader and other Hon councilors, APC Chairman of the LG alongside the Men of the Vigilante group of Nigeria Toto Local Government branch.
The local government Commandant of the Vigilantes, Ali Musa Abige, who received the vehicles on behalf of the members, thanked the Chairman for appreciating the group for their doggedness, endurance in keeping vigil and in averting any break down of law in the area.
He also appealed that the Council should encourage the Vigilantes by pegging a defined monthly emolument.
While commending the Vigilantes for their gallantry, the Chairman however cautioned them to carry out their legitimate activities which the vehicles are meant for so as to compliment other security agents in the area.
Also speaking during the presentation Alh Shuaibu Adawari, APC chairman Toto Local Government Area appreciated the chairman for the donation, called on the people for total support to the management of the local government and other government agencies in order to succeed.
He eulogised the chairman’s kind gesture to be complimenting on the State Governor’s policies and program aimed at providing a crime free environment for the citizens of the state.
