Senate Names Sen. Philip Aduda As Minority Leader

The Senate on Tuesday, named Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the new Minority Leader of the Senate.

Our correspondent report that Senator Aduda, who was formerly the minority whip, followed the difection of Senator Enyinaya Abaribe from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and his resignation as senate minority leader.

The red chamber also announced Senator Chukwuka Utazi (PDP,) Enugu, as the new Senate Minority Whip.

The senate president, Ahmad Lawan, announced the appointments while reading two separate letters signed by the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Samuel Anyanwu, on the floor of the senate.

Meanwhile, a house of representatives member for Abuja south federal constituency, Hon Hasssan Usman Sokodabo, has congratulated Senator Philip Aduda, representing the FCT, over his emergence as the senate minority leader of the senate.

Sokodabo, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja, on Tuesday, felicitated with Senator Aduda, legislative aides as well as entire good people of the FCT for the emergence as the senate minority leader of the 9th senate.

He prayed for Allah bless the new position, make it beneficiaries to the masses, especially to the good people of the FCT, while he further prayed for God to continue to grant him the wisdom to discharge his function effectively.
