The senate minority leader, Senator Phillip Aduda representing the FCT on Thursday, flagged – off the construction of road and water drainages linking police divisional headquarters – Labour camp in Nyanya in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
Aduda, while speaking during the flag – off said the road covers 6 kilometers stretch will comprised of asphalt overlay and water drainage system on both lanes of the road.
He noted that his desire to continue with providing viable infrastructures was as a result of support from the good people of the FCT, while pledging to continue to provide the needed viable social social amenities that will impact on their lives in the area.
He, however, called on the contractor and the federal controller of works to ensure the projects are executed to world standard, saying the work must be completed within stipulated period in order to avoid residents of the area from being affected by dust.
According to him, the award of the road and water drainage project was part of his campaign promises to provide good access road to the good people of Nyanya residents and its environs.
“You know there was intervention on this road before, but there was no standard water drainages. But this time around, there is going to be a standard drainage so that the road will stand the best of time,” he said.
He said will always create time to come personally to inspect the road and water drainage project as soon as work commences.
Also speaking, the FCT commissioner for public complaints Commission, Mr Ezikel Dalhatu Musa, noted that the flag – off the road and drainage were among several other projects being executed by Senator Philip Aduda across the six area councils of the territory.
He, however, urged residents of Nyanya not to allowed anybody to deceive them to vote any candidates aides Senator Aduda, Atiku Abubakar and Micah Jiba, member of the house of representative for AMAC/Bwari federal constituency during February, 25, general election.
” Besides, people are coming with a very big promises with lies up and down, while some of them are talking as if they are God or messiah to come and change your entire lives. And we heard this kind story before in 2015, and today, we are not happy with it, “he said.
He, therefore, called on residents of the area not to allowed themselves to fall into the trap of such politicians that have nothing to offer them aside from lies and deception.
He said they should ensure they come out en-mass to cast their votes for the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Senator Phillip Aduda and the incumbent house of representative member for AMAC/Bwari, Micah Jiba, in 2023 election.
On his part, the federal controller of works, Usman assured that the projects will be according to standard and completed within the stipulated time.
