A renowned youth leader, grassroot political mobilizer of his time and presently serving as Commissioner for solid Minerals and Natural Resources in Kogi State, Hon. Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bshir Gegu has been conferred with multiple awards of excellence and credence as Icon of National Politics and Icon of Exemplary Leadership and Societal Development among other.
Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu was consider for his numerous contributions to the development of his host Kogi LG, State and country at large.
The Leadership award was for Good Governance, restoration of hope among teeming youths and grooming future leaders using his good office to achieved all that.
The awards presentation was organised by the Students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, penultimate weekend.
In his remarks, Engr. Bashir Gegu lauded Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for his numerous achievements which now place Kogi as one of top best State in Nigeria.
The Solid Minerals Commissioner said the feat was made possible by the efforts of the Governor and his team who have put so much commitment towards maintaining, sustaining peace, unity, development and growth of the State.
While commending the Students for their efforts to come out with flying colors in their various field of studies and endeavors, he urged them to shun acts capable of destroying their future.
“This government has long made a commitment to good governance by emphasising the values of accountability and transparency to minimise or eliminate waste.”
Engr. Bashir Gegu who is also known as Sarkin Yaki GYB2PYB appreciated the organisers and said he remained committed to the tenets of students and youths welfare.
Global Times Nigeria report that the Commissioner had won several awards, chieftaincy tittles and accolades from his people within and outside Kogi Stat, describing his leadership as uncommon leader who’s leadership is centered on touching lives positively.
Engr. Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu is an Origin of Gegu Beki, Zone C, Kogi LG in western region of the State.
