Following the widespread activities of the Federal government Social Investment Programme, and beneficiaries of the Nasarawa State Conditional Cash Transfers Programme (NASCCTP) of 5000 naira monthly stipends, popularly known as “Kudin Abdullahi A. Sule”, have lauded the state government for giving them succor and improving their welfare and wellbeing through the intervention.

Women in Wamba local government, in the Northern Senatorial district of the State, have appreciated both the federal government Ans state intervention funds of the 5000 Cash Transfer stipends they received monthly as it has revived their petty businesses of buying and selling of local essential commodities.

The women, invited the Senior Special Assistant to Nasarawa state Governor and focal person of the Social Investment Programme, Imran Usman Jibrin, to commission the water rehabilitation project they did through the stipend.

According to the Wamba women, the beneficiaries contributed money for the rehabilitation of water facilities to provide potable drinking water for the community, through the provision of water tanks and machines for pumping of water to the community which is extended to the primary schools.

The State focal person and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Nasarawa State on Humanitarian Affairs and his team were invited by the women and beneficiaries of the monthly succor to show them what they did with their little savings over the years.

According to them, it’s also an avenue to sincerely thank Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State and the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari for the efforts towards tackling poverty and youths restiveness in the State and Nation at large.

One of the beneficiaries of the scheme, Mrs. Ruth James, from Gwanje, said they decided to come up with the idea of supporting the government because it has given them a sense of belonging and direction.

” We were able to provide all these through the N5000 monthly succor we get from the government. And we are giving it back to the community as part of our effort to encourage the government”.

The same transformation is replicating in Akwanga Local Government where women have formed a cooperative society to save money from their N5000 stipends to buy four water tanks of 3000ltrs capacity each as their contribution to the community.

The women while showing their appreciation to the government thanked the State focal person, Hon. Imran Usman Jibrin for his sincere effort towards touching the lives of rural dwellers especially the women folk and youths.

They assured more support and solidarity to the government of the present State and Federal governments.

The Focal Person, Hon. Imran Usman Jibrin, commended the women for their determination and commitment to the welfare of their communities, promising that their achievements through the SIP will be transmitted to the state and federal government.

While thanking the women for their foresight, urged other beneficiaries of the SIP to emulate them to improve the quality of the Living condition of rural communities.
