Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has expressed gratitude to God for making it possible on his negative test for Covid-19.
The Governor had been in isolation for days after coming into contact with some personalities who were later confirmed covid-19 positive.
Announcing his result, the Governor said; “it is with gratitude to Almighty Allah that I inform the general public, particularly the good people of Sokoto State, that the outcome of the several tests I have gone through have all been negative.
“I wish to express my gratitude to my deputy, Hon Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, Walin Sokoto, for ably holding fort while I was in self isolation and going through the mandatory procedures of determining my status.
“My special appreciation also goes to His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto for his fatherly support and guidance through the period, while I thank the clergy for their supplications for my health and safety,” he added.
Tambuwal also expressed gratitude to members of his family, associates, friends, well-wishers, the people of Sokoto State and the nation at large, for their goodwill, prayers and sympathy.
He reiterated his call on the people of the state to support the good and selfless work of relevant Covid-19 agencies within and outside the state by adhering to all the prescribed practices for the prevention of further spread of the pandemic.
He prayed Allah to protect people of the state from all afflictions, heal those already infected and forgive those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 and other causes.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor of the state has expressed gratitude to the government and good people of Sokoto State, who rallied behind the Governor with prayers.
“Despite the fact that the governor was in self-isolation, I enjoyed his tremendous support and encouragement in discharging my duties and running the state seamlessly,” he said.
