Sport Development: Adavi LG Council Boss Donates Training Kits, Toyota Hiace Bus To Kogi Pillars FC

True followers emulates the footstep of their leaders, this was what the Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, Hon. Omuya Joseph Salami – a leutanant of His Excellency, Alhaji. Yahaya Adoza Bello, has displayed through his gesture to Kogi Pillars Football Club.

Hon. Joseph Salami, who is also the Manager of the Club, paid an unscheduled visit to Club during its training and showered the Club with training kits at the ECSS, Ogaminana main field, Ogaminana Adavi LGA, Kogi State.

Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami, popularly called Lusty, while presenting the training kits to the Club described sports as a unifying factor, capable of building bridges of peace amongst the people.

He expressed happiness on the youthfulness of the players of the Club and commended them for their passion and commitment to the development of their talents.

“It gladdens my heart to see young men who are ready to make headways through the talent given to them by Almighty Allah. There’s no doubt that sports is a veritable tool that can help strengthen peaceful coexistence in any given society. On the field of play, there are no tribes, no tongues and religious differences doesn’t come to play, all that matters is playing as a team and securing victory for the team”

“Today, sports has gone beyond just exercising our body, people are now making millions and billions in Naira and dollars through football and other sports. This is due to preparation and opportunity. You may not be at such level today, but who knows, if the next world’s next Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo is in this training ground?

Don’t limit your dreams in this round leather games, there’s nothing Allah cannot do, remain committed and I know opportunities will come one day”

Hon. Lusty enjoined the players to remain discipline in all their activities on and off the pitch, stressing that they are becoming mirrors in the society, hence the need to be well behaved at all times.

He promised to do more to see to the growth of the Club and become a force to be reckoned with, within the State and beyond.

The Executive Chairman appreciated the handlers of the team and others who are contributing in no small measure to the successes recorded so far by the Club, urging them to continue in their support to the club.

Hon. Joseph also commended parents for giving their children/wards freewill to play for the team, adding that such attitude will go a long way at curbing societal vices in the society and enjoined other parents to encourage them to take part in sporting activities to enable them stay healthy and as well, earn a living through sports.

Just a day interval, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami, donated Toyota Hiace Bus to the team to ease the team’s mobility.

Head Coach of the Club, Ibrahim Hudu, while appreciating the Manager for his gesture towards the club, described Hon. Lusty as a God-saint personality.

Coach Hudu pointed out that the gestures of the Executive Chairman towards the team from the on set has been unprecedented and prayed God to bless and strengthen the Chairman to enable him continue in his good works towards men.

“Words are not enough to express how grateful I am to Hon. Lusty for everything he’s been doing for us in this Club. He has practically taken us his children and he’s been showering fatherly love on us as a team. Thanks for all you’ve been doing sir. Allah will surely, reward you in bountiful folds (Amin)”

Coach Hudu promised to put the training kits to good use and charged his boys to continue to live up to expectations at all times.

Donated training kits include balls, whistles, training cones among others.

Present at the event were Hon. Yusuf Nasiru Ekunu -Supervisor for works Adavi LG, Hon. Atikat – Supervisor for Agriculture Adavi LG, SSA on Political Matters to Adavi LG Chairman, Mr. Shuaibu Andah Yahaya, Sport Secretary, Mr. Aliu Idris Osuwa, Mr. Gideon Ajanaku, Hon. Yusuf Nasiru Ekunu, Alh. Sanni Kabiru among others.
