Sport Development: Gov. Bello Hails Kogi NEWMAP For The Initiative In Kogi

As the foot and volley ball competition organised by the management of NEWMAP in Kogi State in partnership with NBHH to engage, develop and strengthen sporting skills of youths in Ebiraland came to a colourful end on Sunday 20th December, 2020 at Agassa in Okene Local Government, the State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello has commended the organisers of the event for such a wonderful idea aim at developing the youths of the area.

Gov. Bello as the special guest of honour was represented by Director-General of Government House Administration, Alh. Shaibu Oricha also appreciates the enthusiasm displayed by the participating youths, saying the exercise will not only develop their skills but will also unite them as one indivisible generation of future leaders.

In a remark, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Donor Agencies and coordinator of Kogi NEWMAP, Barr. Ladi Jatto said the agency organised the community shield sport competition to engage the youths as part of their cooperate social responsibilities.

The governor’s aide maintained that, Kogi NEWMAP is almost done with erosion control and road construction projects in Agassa while other developmental projects within the preview of the agency’s mandate are ongoing across the state.

Alhaji Shuaibu Oricha, DG Government House represented the Governor at the event.

The Executive Chairman of Okene Local Government represented at the event by Hon. Suleiman Jatto commended the management of Kogi NEWMAP and NBHH for engaging the youths in such a useful venture.

Sunday Jatto team defeated Hajia Hawawu Oziohu to emerge winner of the Volley ball tournament while Babamba United football team won the soccer event.
