State FCT Minister Charges Security Agencies to Thoroughly Investigate Kogi Assembly Fire Incident.

The Minister of State FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has expressed deep concerned over the unfortunate inferno at the Kogi State House of Assembly complex, and charged the security agencies to thoroughly investigate the fire incident towards unraveling the remote and immediate cause.

The minister in a statement Tuesday and made available to newsmen by Andrew Essien, SA New Media (OHMS) quoted Dr. Ramatu Aliyu as describing the incident as “very sad indeed”.

While expressing shock at the level of destruction caused by the fire, the Minister urged citizens of the state to remain calm and allow government through its relevant agencies, determine the cause and necessary actions going forward.

“This fire outbreak is simply unfortunate coming at a time the state government is already grappling with the effects of flooding that has engulfed parts of the state.

“I urge relevant agencies to join the state government in unraveling the remote and immediate cause of this inferno so that this avoidable incidence does not reoccur in the foreseeable future.

“I also plead with citizens not to take laws into their hands as the state government through the relevant agencies are already investigating the cause and appropriate actions will be taken by the state government,” the statement said.
