Pandemonium in Akwa Ibom state as Councillorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) takes nomination form to shrine and consults his deity and with aim of securing victory at the poll.
This follow the way some people consult their pastors and imams when aspiring for political offices, this man has simply gone to consult his god for breakthrough.
The politician who is Identified as Mr. Friday Etim Ukim is a councillorship aspirant under the PDP for the upcoming 2020 Local Government Elections in the state.
Our correspondent gathered that Mr. Ukim, is an aspirant of Ward 7 in Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Area.
He visited the shrine in his ward on Thursday, August 13, 2020 to present his nomination form and pray for his victory in the coming election.
The councillorship aspirant, dressed on singlet and nickers, placed the two forms in front of the deity and prayed.
After doing that, he also knelt before the deity with a bottle of dry gin and palm front as tradition demands and prayed.
“I am a christian and I have no problem with traditional worship as far as you don’t use your religion to cause havoc in people’s lives”.
In a reactions to his strange appearance some people had already took to social media to attack his person and calling him a desperate politician who want power at all cost.
When our reporter contacted the State PDP secretariat the party leaders were not on ground to comment on the development.
