Supreme Verdict: Court Dismisses PDP, SDP Petition Against, Says Its Lacking In Merit

Supreme Court sitting in Abuja on Monday unanimous dismissed the petition brought by the Peoples Democratic party, (PDP) and it’s candidate Musa Wada against Governor Yahaya Bello and the All Progressive Congress, (APC), for lacking in merit.

In the judgement read by Justice Uwani Abba Aji, the Court said the “Appeal lacks any scitilla of merit, and is dismissed in it’s entirety

Similarly, the court held that Having struck out some paragraphs of the Social Democratic party, (SDP), the petition is left with merger facts in support of the petition.

The court also held that issue of forgery and age falsification were not proved either.

Speaking further the court said “Issue of harassment and intimidation of voters also received no evidence.

The evidence of PW_11 who stated the he was monitoring the falsification of electoral materials and result from PDP Secretariat through electronic gadget amount to hearsay and no gadget was tendered in the course of hearing of the petition.

The court held that the appeal lacks in merit and must be dismissed. The apex thereafter dismissed the petition of the SDP.
