The legislative arm of Tafa local government council of Niger state has set-up a five man committee to investigate the suspended chairman of the local government, Ibrahim Mami Ijah, over alleged N40m land deal and misappropriation of funds.
Global Times Nigeria, had reported that the embattled chairman, Ibrahim Mami Ijah, was on Wednesday, suspended for six months in a letter signed by the ten councilors of the local government for alleged financial misappropriation.
The chairman, had neither pick calls nor reply to text message sent to him by our reporter to react over allegations against him by the councillors.
Speaker of the local government, Idris Abdullahi, while speaking with our reporter through telephone interview yesterday, disclosed that a five man committee led by councillor representing Ijah- Gwari ward are to investigate the suspended chairman over all the allegations leveled against him.

He said the vice chairman of the local government, Mohammed Haruna Liberia, has taken over the affairs of the local government on acting capacity pending after conclusion of the committee investigation.
“As I am speaking to you, the vice chairman, Mohammed Haruna Liberia, is the acting chairman of Tafa local government council, pending when the committee completes their assignment,” he said.
