The Emir of Keffi, Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa, calls for revival of cultures and norms among the people of Nasarawa State.

The revered Emir of Keffi, Doctor HRM. Shehu Chindo Yamusa, made the call while receiving a delegation from Nasarawa Broadcasting Service NBS Cultural Dance competition planning committee tittle ‘Our Dance, Our Identity’ Led by the director of planning, Research and Statistics, Patricia Akawu, at his place in Keffi, Thursday.

Receiving the organizing committee of NBS Cultural Dance Competition, the Emir of Keffi, doctor Shehu Chindo Yamusa the third, extolled the management and staff of NBS for initiating the programme that will unite people of the state through cultural activities.

The traditional ruler said the programme if property organized, will promote tourism and also serve as a source of income to the state and promised his total support to enable the programme succeed just as he advocated the need for other well meaning individual to accord priority for the cultural activity in Nasarawa state.

Shehu Yamusa recalled that he started such move in the past to organize cultural festival where people from different communities can come together to showcasing their rich cultural heritage and commended the organizers for their efforts towards such initiative.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, who is the director of planning, research and statistics, NBS, Patricia Akawu, told the emir that the purpose of their visit was to intimate him on the planned cultural dance competition organized by NBS scheduled to hold across the three Senatorial zones of the state, starting from the western zone next week fiftth may, 2022 in Keffi.

Patricia Akawau said, the cultural competition tagged “Our Dance, Our Identity” is organized to Foster peace and unity among the diverse indigenous ethnic groups in the state as well as to complementing state government effort towards ensuring peaceful coexistence in the state, and called for support to enable succeed.

Away from the emir palace, Patricia Akawu alongside technical staff of NBS, inspected the one thousand seater auditorium and the convocation square of the Nasarawa state University, Keffi where the event is expected to take place to ensuring that things are properly arranged for the successful hosting of the programme.
