The year 2021 Was Quite Challenging, Dramatic – Says FCT NULGE President

The president of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Prince Ibrahim Abdullahi Kabi, said the out-gone year 2021 was dramatic and quite challenging.

Comrade Kabi, while speaking with our correspondent in his new year message to residents of the FCT on Saturday, said he was pleased that Nigerians were able to survive and overcome such challenges amidst a spate of insecurity across the country.

Comrade Ibrahim Kabi, while welcoming residents of the FCT and Nigerians to the new year, noted that it was only by the grace of God almighty that the citizens survived to witness the succeeding year, 2022.

He, however, prayed for God almighty to heal the hearts of families of those who have lost their loved ones to any form of the disease, as well as those that died on the account of insecurity across the country.

“As a citizen, we must acknowledge the fact that we are exposed to a common threat of terrorism, kidnapping and sundry criminalities; the threat of economic meltdown, unemployment and poverty; and, even our solution to the problem of climate change must be within the focus of conserving the planet we call home,” he said.

According to him, the country cannot wholly defeat any of such security challenges or threats its citizens refuse to cooperate and work together irrespective of their intangible differences.

He added, “As Nigerians, we are all aware of the challenges that bedevil the country. We need not begin to enumerate them. But what we must not let happen is allowing our weakness to wall our strength. Our diversity offers a rare opportunity of plural perspectives to finding a solution to our problems,” he said.

He, therefore, enjoyed people of the FCT and Nigerians to embrace the new year 2022, with brighter hopes of restoration, saying doing so will enhance a stronger commitment to unity, cooperation and mutual love, unity, and peace across the board.

Comrade Kabi also stressed the need for residents of the FCT and Nigerians to work as one entity irrespective of ethnic, religious, political, or tribal affiliation, to ensure peaceful coexistence.

He, therefore, wished every resident of the territory and Nigerians a prosperous year 2022 and prayed that every family shall find renewal in the new year ahead.
