The lawmaker representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Elder Leke Abejide, who is seen as the ‘Asiwaju’ of Yagba land, has commended the appointment of the Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon Simon Lalong, and Member Representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Chief James Faleke, as Director-general and secretary, respectively, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 Presidential Campaign Council.
This was announced by the convener/ National Cordinator of the Asiwaju Confluence Campaign Organization in a Congratulatory message released on Tuesday in Abuja.
In his statement, Elder Leke stated that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s selection of Lalong and Faleke, was a wise move that will ensure the APC president candidate’s victory at the Presidential Election next year.
The legislator and Kogi Political leader pointed out that Lalong and Faleke are seasoned politicians who are familiar with the workings of Nigeria politics as a result of their years of experience and track records of leadership, adding that the people of Kogi State are very proud of the duo heading the campaign for Tinubu.
He further stated that his colleague, Hon Faleke, who is now the secretary of the PCC is a very humane leader with very exceptional qualities as demonstrated on the floor of the green Chamber and back home with his Constituents and Nigerians.
The appointments were made public on Thursday by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National chairman of the APC, after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Villa in Abuja.
Adamu claims that the selections were made based on their ability to perform as observed in previous leadership positions.
Hon. Leke Abejide who is a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) seeking re-election for a second term to represent Yagba Federal Constituency, stated that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is his mentor, and he remains one of the staunch supporters and admirers of the presidential candidate despite their differences in Political party, and the more reason him ( Leke Abejide) is championing one of the biggest grassroots Campaign Organizations for Tinubu across the country tagged Asiwaju Confluence Campaign Organisation (ACCO23).
Leke affirmed his confidence that Asiwaju Tinubu will win the elections and Nigerians will never regret the Tinubu presidency.
