Toto/Gadabuke 2023: Usman Labaran Shafa unveils 4 Years Stewardship, pledges to do more

Hon Usman Labaran Shafa, Member Representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly took oath of office on 10th June, 2019, when he was inaugurated at the hallowed chambers of the Nasarawa State  House of Assembly as representative of the people of Toto/Gadabuke constituency.

After winning 2019 election with a landslide victory where he pulled a total votes of over 23,000, out of the overall votes of about 30,000.

Hon Shafa immediately set to work for his people and set the ball rolling.

And to put the record straight for the sake of posterity, the Hon Shafa within 100 days in office came up with an elaborate programme as Empowerment Scheme, thus convincing his people that he is living no stone unturned in service to his people and to humanity.

It was indeed a record breaking legacy for the constituency to witness for the first time, within Seven months on assumption of office, he demonstrated that as a servant and errand boy of his people he could be trusted and relied upon.

This is when he decided to plough back the little he was able to save and used it to empower his people with items worth N9 million.

On that premise, Hon Shafa gave out items which included 40 sewing machines, 50 grinding machines and 800 wrappers.

In addition, the Hon Principal also distributed 60 cartoons of herbicides and 30 sprayers to farmers in order to boost food production in his constituency.

This silent achieving lawmaker, also veered out to complement in what the Executive arm of government is usually seen to be doing by installing 87 solar street lights where Toto got 40, Shafa Abakpa 20, Shafa Kwato 20 and Enyezi 7 in the first phase of the project.

While in the second phase, 76 solar street lights worth  N4 million was equally installed in his constituency.

To this end therefore, some of the communities that benefited from the street lights included Karmo, Tudu-Uku, Chiji, Gateh, Ahere and Wada respectively.

Hon Shafa the Chairman House Committee on Health as a result of his privileged position in this direction, the kind-hearted Principal was able to secure so far 30 permanent and pensionable appointments for unemployed youths from his Constituency to work with the state health sector, as well as others who were lucky in the judiciary and education among other sectors just within his first tenure in office.

This is aside numerous admissions secured for students of his constituency to study in various tertiary institutions within and outside the State.

Similarly, there are also other on-the-spot, support of cash dolled out to individuals, groups and others within and outside his constituency,

That is not all, as a bulwark to incessant road accidents on Nasarawa-Toto highway, Hon Shafa quickly responded to the yearnings and concerns of communities with such challenges by constructing speed-breaks in Kuru, as well as extending the gestures to Tashara-Gadabuke road, Lokogoma and Nakuse among others on request by the affected communities.

Hon Usman Labaran Shafa, member representing Toto/ Gadabuke at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly was able to facilitate renovation of 2 classroom blocks in primary school at Tudu-Uku and another in primary school at Shafan-Kwatto.

In the same vein, he was also able to facilitate the construction of 3 classroom blocks in Adadu and facilitated the. donation of transformers by the State Government to boost electricity in his constituency.

He has constructed Boreholes and renovated others to enable his people have access to good drinking water.

With the fit so far achieved by the lawmaker within his first term in office no doubt if reelected, he will live an indelible mark in the sounds of time in the political history of the people of his constituency.

It is hoped that his people would give him more support, more cooperation and more understanding to consolidate on the gains and achievements made so far as recorded, especially when weighted along with his vibrant contributions and performance at House committees and on the floor of the House.

When put together, these are overwhelming achievements that speak volume, especially too that many health bills passed and several other health-related resolutions made in the health sector, actually emerged after a lot of efforts put in by the committee he is chairing.

No doubt Hon Principal deserves another mandate to consolidates on his achievements for the people of Toto /Gadabuke Constituency.

Returning Hon Usman Labaran Shafa Member Representing Toto /Gadabuke Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for second term no doubt will be a step for more democratic dividends.
