The entire Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State was agog as stalwarts, members and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC from across the 12 political wards of the two-state constituencies that make up of Toto local government that is Toto /Gadabuke and Umaisha /Ugya in their thousands converged to receive the Speaker of the state house of assembly, Rt Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi in the rousing welcome back to his country home of Umaisha.
Our correspondent report that the Speaker, who just returned from the holy land of Saudi Arabia, where he also served as the state Amirul – Hajj and leader of Nasarawa state government’s delegation to this year’s pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia went for a short homecoming to see his people after the spiritual trip.
It was further observed that the APC stalwarts and stakeholders as well as local government officials of the party, led by the chairman of the local government, Hon Abdullahi Tashas, converged at Wada in Araba, towns which share boundaries with Gadabuke Development Area and Toto local government to Yelwa, Kuru down to Toto local government headquarters where they received the speaker amidst large convoys of motorcades down to Umaisha, his country home.
The speaker, however, received warmed cheers from APC members and supporters who stood by the roadside right from Shafa- Abakpa, Kenyehu, Ugya, and Shafa-Koto down to his country home of Umaisha.
It was further observed that the pick of the movement climaxed in the Ugya community, the country hometown of Hon. Yahaya Ohinoyi Usman, who is the running mate of PDP Governorship candidate in the state, as the people of Ugya gave Speaker high ovation thus, culminating to a stand-still in the gridlock movement that forced the state lawmaker to resulted trekking while he receives cheers from the people of the community.
However, speakers train on arrival at his Umaisha country home, where thousands of his supporters waited patiently for several hours by the roadside to also have glims of him amid music tones and ovation that accompanied the procession.
The speaker, while addressing the mammoth crowd, maintained that the area and the local government, in general, have no opposition party in existence, even as he emphasized the significance of the permanent voter’s card (PVC) in which he urged all eligible voters, especially those that have not collected their PVC should go and do so.
He, however, enumerated the achievements of the present administration under the leadership of Eng Abdullahi Sule, in the area of security, infrastructures, while he and reassured governor Sule of his people’s mandate and support for him beyond 2023.
The event had in attendance both elected and appointed political office holders serving and former from the area, where they canvassed support for governor Abdullahi Sule and the speaker of the state house of assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi Balarabe beyond 2023.
