A press statement issued by the council spokesman, Yahaya Idris Toto said the Chairman of Toto local government area in Nasarawa State on 27th Monday, June 2023 performed one of his official duties wearing in six supervisory councilors, 5 Special Advisers, SAs, and 20 Senior Special Assistant, SSAs, who would assist his administration towards delivery dividends of democracy to the people of the area inline with manifesto and campaign compromises.
The swearing ceremony comes after the supervisory councilors being clear and confirmed by the legislative arm of the council.
In his address shortly after the supervisory councilors were sworn-in, said the councilors were among the many qualified persons in the local government area and were selected to represent the interest of the people of Toto LG
He urged the Supervisory Councillors to be dedicated and committed to their assignments by hitting the ground running, the Chairman pointed out that their nomination, confirmation, and swearing is a call to duty and public trust, and that they must discharge their duties according to the oath subscribed.
While administering the oath of office to other appointees comprising SAs, and SSAs Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas enjoined newly-appointed council officials to repose the confidence of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led administration under the able leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji (Engineer) Abdullahi Sule to impact positively on the lives of the people.
The council boss noted that the task of bringing dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people of the council area starts with the people engaged in government and hence could not afford to fail.

He urged the newly inaugurated Supervisory councilors and another office to be good ambassadors of their various wards.
“The mandate given to us is to improve on the welfare of the people. My appeal to you is that this administration must rancour-free. I will be harthe d on the punctuality of members of taff because punctuality is the soul of business and we must be seen to be serious,” he said.
He appreciated the people of Toto LG, traditional rulers and security chiefs for the support accorded his administration since his assumption of office.
He said with their support he was able to cut all porous security-related problems and had in the last three months constructed gully erosion across the three districts of the council.
According to him, salary of council staff is being paid when due and equally sought for their support to enable him to continue providing leadership to the people of the area.
The elated Chairman also said his top priority includes security, education, health, and empowerment and pledged to do more for the people.
It would be recall that the council boss sworn in appointees and while Chief Magistrate of Toto equally administers the oath of office and allegiance to the supervisory councilors.
Global Times Nigeria learned that the Chairman was accompanied by his beautiful wife, Mrs. Fatima Aliyu Tashas, Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Abubakar Kwanakis Haruna, Secretary of the council, DPM, and official aides.
Also in attendance were councilors representing 12 electoral wards of the council.
The event attracted hundreds of people across the 12 electoral wards of Toto LG.
