Today Tuesday 19th July 2022 was another historic day for a true Democrat, an icon of hope and a Leader truly loved and cherished by his people as he make yet another triumphant entry to his hometown.
The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi who just returned from the holy land of Saudi Arabia where he served as the State Amirul – Hajj and Leader of Nasarawa State Government’s delegation to this year’s pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia went for a short homecoming to see his people after the spiritual trip.
But the response was something different, it is better to imagine than explained it as the Unprecedented crowd that came out to receive him was believable with both the young and the old, male and female, youths, boys and girls trooped out in their numbers to welcome him back home.
The entire Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State was agog as citizens from across the twelve electoral wards of the two-state constituencies that make up Toto LG, that is Toto /Gadabuke and Umaisha /Ugya converged to receive the August visitor in July, a son of the soil, their icon of hope, their tested and rusted leader whom they loved and cherished daily Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi.
From Wada in Araba, a satellite town that shares boundaries with Gadabuke Development Area and Toto LG to Yelwa, Kuru down to Toto the headquarters of the LG citizens in every town were out to welcome the son of the soil who just as from Toto to Umaisha was another side to behold as Shafa Kwatto, Shafan Abakpa to Ugya, Kenyehu to Umaisha was Unprecedented with the crowd.
The pick of the movement climaxed at Ugya the hometown of Hon. Yahaya Ohinoyi Usman the running mate of the PDP Governorship candidate in the state as the people of Ugya gave Speaker Balarabe a high ovation thus culminating in a stand-still in the traffic movement that make the Nasarawa State Number One Lawmaker and Number Three Citizen trekking while he receives cheers from the people.
As if that was not enough, the train on arrival at Umaisha the hometown of the Speaker was something different, is it those that have waited patiently for many hours to receive him or those standing by the roadside to catch the glims or the musical tones and ovation that accompanied the procession or the admiration of the cheers that led the man of the moment to the mounted podium where he addressed the crowd of supporters.
He was explicit in his speech where he maintained that the area and the LG, in general, have no opposition party in existence thus emphasizing the significance of the permanent voter’s card PVC urging his people, especially those that have not collected theirs yet to do so as a matter of necessity.
He enumerated the achievements of the present administration in the area ranging from security to other infrastructure and reassured Gov. Abdullahi Sule of his people’s Mandate and support for him beyond 2023.
The event had in attendance both elected and appointed political office holders serving and formals from the area conversing support for Gov. Sule and Speaker Balarabe beyond 2023.
