Tragedy: 39 years old man killed settling dispute over public defecation in Kogi

IDRIS AHMED, LOKOJA.

It was tragedy on Friday last week when a 39-year-old man, Sunday Orishagbemi, was killed while trying to settle a quarrel between two men in Zango Daji quarters, in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State

The tragedy, which has been confirmed by Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Ayah, was caused by the attempt to settle a quarrel over public defecation.

According to a source, in the evening of the fateful Friday a friend of the deceased said to be a vulcanizer at Ganaja junction, Lokoja, branched to urinate close to a building owned by one of the residents of the quarters, when the owner of the building protested and a quarrel ensued between them.

Worried over the heated disagreement, the deceased came in to settle the quarrel between him and the son of the owner of the house and allegedly brought out a knife and stabbed Orishagbemi to death.

The PPRO who confirmed the story in an interview with journalists in Lokoja over the weekend,said the deceased was killed at Okada Park at Zango Daji, adding that the suspect had been arrested by the police for investigation.

He promised that the suspect would be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as the investigation is concluded .
