By Sadiq Abubakar, Abuja.
The FCT council of traditional rulers has sympathized with the chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) of the FCT Dr. Hassan Sule, over his release from captivity by the terrorists.
They, however, called on residents of the territory across the board to continue to pray for the country to overcome the problem of insecurity.
The Ona of Abaji, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, who is also the chairman of the FCT Council of traditional rulers, made the call when he led upgraded chiefs on a sympathy visit to the released FCT UBEB director at his private residence in Abaji on Sunday.
He said the traditional rulers were shocked and saddened when they received the news of the abduction of the UBEB boss alongside others on board the Abuja-Kaduna train by terrorists.
He, therefore, urged both Muslims and Christians to continue to pray for the country to overcome the security challenge.
The traditional ruler commended the FCT minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, and other top government officials as well as other well-meaning individuals for praying to ensure the release of the UBEB boss.
“I can say it’s the prayers of the people across the board who have stood by you while in captivity that God answered their prayers. And I believed the good things you have also been doing to them that God answered their prayers, “he said.
Responding, the Walin of Abaji, Alhaji Sidi Ali, who spoke on behalf of the FCT UBEB director, appreciated the traditional rulers and other well-meaning individuals for their prayers, which he said led to his release from the hands of the terrorists.
He also called for prayers for the remaining other victims that are still in captivity and for God to touch the heart of the terrorists to release the remaining victims.
It will be recalled that the FCT UBEB chairman and six others were released by their abductors last week after three months in captivity.
