Tribunal Judgement: Chief Pharm. Asuku Hails Judgement On Gov. Bello

The Chief of staff to the Kogi State Governor, Chief Pharmacist Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku has congratulated His principal Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for a well deserved victory at the tribunal.

In a statement by his Special Assistance on Media and Publicity, Ozigi Mujahid Abubakar the Chief of staff said, “The judgements affirmed the wishes of the people who not only voted but defended their votes and the mandates they granted the governor during the gubernatorial election of November 16, 2019. The court’s verdicts did not come as a surprise because of the massive support the Governor received from the people and residents of their states during the election and after.

“I received with great enthusiasm the judgment of the tribunal, it was quite clear from the onset that the petition lacks merit but seeing the process through is a good one for our democracy. He commended the panel members for a thorough job and hard-work which reflected in their historic judgment. Chief Pharmacist Asuku enjoined the opposition parties to work with Governor Yahaya Bello led new direction government in his mission to take the state to the let do more of greatness.

He added that the victories were testimonies to the transparent, credible, democratic, free and fair electoral process that produced His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello for the second term in office. Asuku affirmed that that all lovers of democracy must salute the resilience of the judiciary in deepening the country’s democracy through sound and lucid judgments and for putting truth and justice ahead of any other matter in carrying out their professional responsibilities.

The ruling has shown that all hope is not lost about this country, as the judiciary continues to show really that its the last hope of the people and victory for democracy and affirmation of the supremacy of the sanctity of the ballot. He stressed that, todays judgment has reinforced the hope of the opposition that there are still men and women on the bench who, even in the face of rampage to destroy the judiciary, can still stand firm and do the right thing.

The Chief of staff also congratulate our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the victory. This goes to show that the party has come of age in party politics and in putting forward the best hands that can and will take Kogi state to greater heights through the fulfillment of our manifestos and support for government policies by affirming His Excellency, second term election victory. The judgment truly reflects the hopes and aspirations of the majority. A victory for the people”, Asuku concluded.
