We should stop misleading Government and the people over Ajaokuta Steel Company.

Enough of all the academic exercise over Ajaokuta Steel Company for the past 40 years. Enough of all the transmission of ignorance that has kept the mega steel factory stagnated for over 40years. The Federal Government established Ajaokuta Steel Company, the largest federal government’s investment ever till today but standing still for over 40 years.
Of what use to us and to the government to keep saying we don’t want to privatize Ajaokuta Steel? The modern economy of the world is driven by public-private (investment) partnerships.
Ajaokuta steel is occupying over 24,000 hectares of our father’s land for over 40 years without economic value to the host community, the Nigerian citizens and the government.

How does privatizing Ajaokuta Steel negatively affects the economy of Nigeria? rather it will boost the economy, serve as major revenues, considering the efficiency of private management of any organization by a reputable private company, it will create hundreds of thousands of jobs and enhance SMEs development.
Government has no business doing business. Let’s stop deceiving the people. A Steel Company is the power of any developed or developing nation.
It’s ENOUGH. Privatize Ajaokuta now on a public-private partnership model to any interested internationally recognized reputable company or capable indigenous company with the required capacity for the optimum benefits of the people and the government of Nigeria.
