Kogi Community, Social Development Agency ( KCSDA) Executes Over 500 Projects.

Kogi state community and social development agency has executed over 500 community based projects across three senatorial districts of the state.

Hon Raphael Olorunfemi Okomoda, Chairman, Board of Directors of the agency, who disclosed to Newsmen in an interview on Thursday in Lokoja, said the feat was achieved due to the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the rural dwellers that are in dire need of socio economic amenities.

He revealed that the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as part of his commitment to the success of agency, has been paying counter fund to the donor agencies promptly as well as disburses adequate grants for the execution of the approved projects.

The Chairman of the board of Directors, who thanked the government for the achievements so far recorded by the agency through regular supervision and prudent management of available resources, equally commended the benefiting communities for their cooperations and contributions throughout the periods of projects.

According to Hon. Raphael Okomoda, the agency embarked on projects that have direct bearings on the lives of the people residing in the rural areas across three senatorial districts.

He explained that the projects executed include rural roads rehabilitation, sinking and rehabilitation of boreholes, primary health care centres, rural electrification, drainages and setting up of science laboratories in the rural schools.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation with the agency got from the various communities that benefited from the programmes of the agency, promising that more projects will be executed in more communities as the Governor has assured of more funds to support the agency.

Commenting on insecurity across the country, Hon. Akomoda who lamented the horrific situation, urged state governors to pay working visits to Kogi so as to learn from Governor Yahaya Bello’s magic wand of warding off insecurity.

He said sensitisation and mobilisation of the people to be security conscious and partnering with security agencies have contributed immensely in tackling the ugly situation.

The formation of community vigilantes, hunters groups, local constabulary of police and the activities of the police / community relations has helped in no small measure to deal with criminals and exposed their dens and hideouts.

Akomoda, therefore appealed to the people of the state to rally round Governor Yahaya Bello in his quest to be the next President of Nigeria after Buhari, so that the country can witness another era of peace concord and tranquility.
