2023: Anyaogu picks YPP Gubernatorial Nomination forms, insists leaders suffering leadership shortsightedness for a better Abia

An International business mogul, Chief James Okereke Anyaogu, has picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) to run for the seat of Governor of Abia state in the 2023 general election in the state.

The governorship hopeful reiterated his desire to creating a new Abia where things are competently run for the general development of the state.

Anyaogu said that his lastest political move was a clear testament to his zeal to participate in and win the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia state

He spoke shortly after he picked YPP Gubernatorial Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the party’s Secretriate in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, during the weekend, regretted the deplorable state of affairs in the state, describing Abia as a sleeping giant because of leadership shortsightedness, prebendalism, cronyism, self-centeredness, visionlessness, and lack of commitment to a better Abia state.

He explained that he aspired to become governor to foster quality representation and leadership, to harness particularly the abundant human resources the state is blessed with.

According to the gubernatorial aspirant, “I’m coming to industrialize Abia and ensure that our graduates can comfortably work in our state without necessarily migrating to other states for ends-meet.

“I’m coming to abate the uncontrollable migration with its resultant brain drain which is affecting our collective growth and development”.

Continuing, Anyaogu also maintained that he was genuinely surmount the enormous challenges Abia is facing, and the imbroglio in salary and pension challenges, and economic quagmire, and as well as, the redundancy the state has unfortunately been plunged into.

“To some, the challenges are insurmountable but like the Great Mandela said, “it always seems impossible untill it’s done”, we will get it done and give Abians a prosperous state that we will be proud of.

He concluded, “umunnem ndi Abia, if you voted me in as your next governor come 2023, be rest assured of a developed Abia with the speed of light”.

Meanwhile, the Abia State chapter of Young Progressive Party has fixed June 2, 2022 for the conduct of her governorship primaries ahead of the main general election in 2023.

This was announced by the State Chairman of YPP, Hon Nelcinn Chimex Uluocha.

He admonished all eligible citizens of Abia state to go and get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) ready for the election and also make urgent effort to get registered with YPP.
