Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe, one of the 2023 presidential aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, has adduced the reason behind his suit against the leadership of the main opposition party in Nigeria.

This came against the outcome of the just-concluded National Convention/ presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, held at the weekend in Abuja, wherein an ex-vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar defeated Senator Bukola Saraki and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, to emerge as PDP flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election in the country.

Recall that Ndukwe had approached Justice Donatus Okorowo-led Federal High Court in Abuja, for an application for an order of injunction restraining the PDP from proceeding with the primary election pending the hearing and determination of his suit challenging the position of the party on zoning her presidential seat ticket.

The National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Atu, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) as first to fourth respondents respectively.

However, while reacting to Atiku’s emergence as PDP presidential standard-bearer, in a statement obtained by Global Times Nigeria on Monday, Hon Cosmos Ndukwe, who was also a former Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, and ex-Chief of Staff during the administration of former Governor Theodore Orji, posited that the outcome of concluded party exercise has vindicated has justified his litigation against the main opposition party over stand on zoning in respect of its presidential seat ticket, ahead of the main elections in 2023.

He queried, “with northwest alone having 194 delegates, how can we ever have a southerner on the seat as PDP candidate we are setting wrong precedents?

“Northcentral was considered during National Working Committee (NWC) election zoning. National Chairman, Ayu Iyorcha is a product of zoning.

“I have never lost, I am not a loser and have never been a failed manager!

“It’s either I win or I learn. It’s either I win or gain. Let’s see how it goes, what happened yesterday and the dollar rain is the much reason why I am in court”, Ndukwe concluded.
