Less than 48hrs to the 2023 General Elections, people of Okehi LGA of Kogi State, home to Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan, the Kogi Central PDP Senatorial Candidate woke up to excavation across major roads leading in and out of the Local Government ostensibly cutting off communities in the local government from accessing INEC electoral materials and Voters from accessing their polling units on Saturday 25th February,2025.

This dangerous design may also be to entrap PDP candidates and supporters from escaping from attacks by the APC thugs who have been on rampage in the last few days in the Senatorial District, and who have shown determination to unleash violence on the people on election day to underscore the fear that the PDP has expressed in the run up to the election.

Even though undeterred by the ploy of the ruling party to instil fear and cause voter apathy in the strongholds of the PDP towards the Saturday General Election, recent development is a major twist in the nefarious designs of the opposition to disenfranchise members of the PDP which is antithetical to democratic practise the world over.

The Kogi Presidential Campaign Council, KPCC hereby reiterate our continued call on the State Security Apparatus to step up surveillance on the Kogi Central Senatorial District to nip in the bud, the surreptitious plans of the opposition to cause panic in the polity by which reason they intend to heighten voter apathy, thereby disenfranchising the people who are predominantly supporters of the PDP.
