2023 Kogi Guber polls: Barr Deedat Ozigi, Usman Ododo, joins race, picks interest and nomination forms, pledges to consolidate GYB’s achievements

Ahead of Kogi State Gubernatorial election slated for November this year, Kogi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. (Barr.) Deedat Ozigi Salami and Auditor General for Local Government, Hon Ahmed Usman Ododo have picked their All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship nomination forms ahead of April primaries in the State.

This follows the commencement of sales of nomination forms at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, wherein the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs , Hon. (Barr) Deedat Momodu Ozigi Salami and Hon. Ahmed Usman Ododo have picked their interest and nomination forms to contest for the office of the governor of Kogi State.

Barr Ozigi who hails from Central district of the State addressed the media and party supporters along with Usman Ododo indicated interest to succeed their boss and incumbent Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, describing their outing as best political arithmetic for the people of Kogi State.

According to them, transparent leadership exhibited by Governor Yahaya Bello inform their decisions to throw in the towels in order to consolidate on his legacy projects scatter all over the State.

“New Direction government from inception to date have contributed immensely and Kogites are happy and working hard to ensure the government continue with her good legacy.” they said.

“We want to assures Kogites that we shall strive towards continue with Governor Yahaya Bello’s legacy in areas of peace, security and infrastructural development.”

Global Tjmes Nigeria reports that Barr. Momodu Ozigi Salami was one time Commissioner for Water Resources from the inception of this administration in 2016 and presently serving as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, an assignment he has done with passion and has performed excellently well.

When answering questions from APC media correspondents, he posited that, he was ready to serve the good people of Kogi State if given the opportunity through their votes.

On his part, the Auditor General for Local Government in the State, Hon. Usman Ahmed Ododo who equally granted an interview stated that, Governor Yahaya Bello made all of them in the present administration as children of nobody to become somebody without consulting anybody and for this privilege, he was ready to serve the good people of Kogi State if elected.

According to him, as an Auditor General for Local Government from the inception of this government, he would ensure that all leakages that are associated with revenues drop at all tiers of government would be looked into for more aggressive revenue drive in ensuring maximum benefits to the people.

He further started that, the GYB developmental plan which he was part of the drafting and implementation stage will be looked into for adequate consolidation and implementation.

Our correspondent reports that the state executive council meeting held recently by Governor Yahaya Bello approved ten names to be his likely successor including the duo mentioned above.
Information available to us indicate that about five sons of kogi state have picked the nomination forms which includes, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, Hon Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, Hon. Pharmacist Jamiu Asuku, Hon Deedat Momodu Ozigi Salami and Hon. Usman Ododo while we expect others to troop in as from monday before the closing date.
