Youths in Bassa local government, under the aegis of New Wave, have chastised Hon. Hassan Baiwa, member of the House of Representatives representing the Dekina/Bassa federal constituency, for purported empowerment, which they have dubbed “Child’s Play.”

The Bassa chapter of the New Wave Congress expressed their displeasure through their spokesperson, Comr. Dansebe Abdulmumin, who stated “Where has Hassan Baiwa been since 2019 when the Bassa people flocked to vote for him? Now that the election is approaching, he has returned in his usual deceptive manner to deceive their people, all in the name of empowerment.”

Comr Dansebe believes that the modern age necessitates technological advancements and empowerment. He claims that people are empowering their constituents with modern technological devices such as laptops, cameras, desktop computers, printers, Jamb forms, and so on, but Hassan Baiwa is still seen with his usual “outdated” sewing machines and grinding machines that cannot withstand the test of time.

The group’s mouthpiece went on to say that the main reason the ostensible empowerment did not draw the desired crowd was because Baiwa is perceived by the Bassa people as being deceitful in his usual manner.

The youths issued a stern warning to the legislator, telling him not to come back and play on their collective intelligence again. That if he wants to empower, he should focus on long-term empowerment rather than the abstract jobs giving they claim he is known for.
