The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Honorable Danladi Jatau has appealed to Nigerians to leave an impactful life worthy of emulation that will translate to development in society.

Rt. Hon Jatau admonished people to have a forgiving spirit and always forgive each other as death is inevitable and can come at any time.

Speaker Jatau gave the advice when he attended a funeral mass of Mama Ann Asibi Kuje, mother of Chief Awayi Kuje a Senior Correspondent of News Agency of Nigeria NAN covering the Nasarawa State House of Assembly

held at Saint Louis Catholic Church Ezhiba in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

It was reported that the Ezhiba community in Wakama, Akun Development Area of Nasarawa Eggon was on Saturday thrown into mourning as politicians, philanthropists, and community leaders converged to bid farewell to Mama Ann Asibi Abakyen Kuje, mother to Chief Awayi Kuje, a journalist attached with the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.

Interestingly, the funeral turned out to be a joyful moment, celebrating the fulfilled life of the 81-year-old late Mama who died as an accomplished mother with 7 children 36 grand, and Great-grandchildren with an array of testimonies, eulogizing her virtuous lifestyle.

 

Speaker Jatau led former and serving state lawmakers to St Louis Catholic Church Ezhiba to pray for the repose soul of the deceased, calling on Nigerians to leave an impactful life worthy of emulation.

 

“We sympathized with Mama’s family, we sympathized with our brother, today is not a speech-making day when death occurs, what usually comes to our mind is who is next, because death is inevitable to every mortal.

” Let have a forgiving spirit, let always forgive each other,” the Speaker said.

The funeral mass also provided a platform for Frank’s conversations where the National President of Eggon Cultural Development Association Comrade David Abuluya accompanied by the National President of the Youth Wing of the association, Comrade Isaac Kigbu called on Eggon Nation to unite irrespective of political inclinations and support the present administration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed for the benefit of all.

Earlier in a homily, Rev. Father Lawrence Anyembugu reminded politicians that the era of rewarding political sycophants should be discarded to pave the way for empowerment schemes and interventions to address hunger in the land, praying to God to forgive the shortcomings of Mama Ann Asibi Abakyen Kuje.

In a word of appreciation, one of the sons of the deceased, Chief Awayi Kuje appreciated the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau for identifying with the family in their moment of grief adding that their late mother withered the storm to make them responsible citizens.

Mama Ann Asibi Abakyen Kuje was thereafter committed to Mother Earth at the family compound at Ezhiba, Wakama, Akun Development Area of Nasarawa Eggon LGA.

It was however gathered that the event served as a reunion among political opponents in the area as it saw the former member representing Nasarawa Eggon East at the State Assembly Hon. Muhammed Agah Muluku and his successor Hon. Jecob Ajegena Kudu embraced each other in peace, unity and reconciliation thus attracting the gathering admiration.
