Following his passing, Distinguished Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho representing Kogi East district has expressed deep sadness over the demised of former Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (rtd)
Global Times Nigeria gathered that the former chief of Defense staff passed away on Saturday.
In a condolence statement signed and issued by Mikail Ibrahim, Special Adviser to Sen Isah Jibrin (Echocho), on Media and Publicity quoted the senator as describing it as a “rude shock”.
Senator Echocho Commended his contribution for upholding integrity and professionalism while serving in the Nigerian military, navigating complex political and security issues with a steady hand.
Late Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi served as Chief of Defence Staff from 1999 to 2003, a period marked by significant challenges and changes in Nigeria’s military landscape. He was renowned for his leadership skills and commitment to the armed forces, earning respect within the military community.
His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of military personnel to serve their country with passion and integrity.
“I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) will grant his families and the Armed Forces the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss”, he concluded.
