2024: Urhonigbe North PDP Meets, Closes Rank Ahead Of September 21 Guber Poll

The Urhonigbe North chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, July 1st, 2024, held an all-embracing meeting of party members and executives at the residence of the former PDP Ward Chairman Chief Festus Osagie at Urhonigbe community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, LGA.
The meeting, which was chaired by the Ward Apex leader Mr Tony Otasowie had in attendance the former Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon Wilson Ogieva, former supervising Councilor, Hon Sebastian Izekor, the Ward Councillor, Hon Elizabeth Ehimwenma, Chief Protocol Officer to Orhionmwon Council Chairman, Comrade Ogiemwonyi Osazuwa.
Also in attendance include Chief Festus Osagie, former New PDP Acting Chairman, Mr. Festus Ayahi, former PDP legacy Ward Chairman, Mr. Ambrose Odiase, former PDP legacy Woman leader, Mrs. Patricia Uweni, Mr. Gastin Ekhator, Mr Monday Iriabe, among others.
Speaking at the unity meeting, Mr Tony Otasowie, the Apex leader of Urhonigbe North, enjoined all the party members to give room for genuine reconciliation and work for the victory of the party. He charged the former legacy members to douse every form of bitterness and personal interest. According to him, “We have no option than to support the PDP Candidates Asue and Ogie to win this Ward in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election. I believe that we will benefit more if we deliver our own PDP Candidates than to deliver those of other parties.”
In the same vein, various speakers at the event which included Hon Wilson Ogieva, Hon Sebastian Izekor, Hon Elizabeth Ehimwenma, Chief Festus Osagie, Mrs. Patricia Uweni, Mr. Gastin Ekhator, Mr Monday Iriabe, harped on unity to win the Ward for PDP in the upcoming guber poll.
In particular, they roundly agreed to use the house of former PDP legacy Chairman, Mr Ambrose Odiase for the Ward activities pending the party congress when the Ward will have a secretariat. Also, the former New PDP Acting Chairman Mr Festus Ayahi, and Mr Ambrose Odiase were mandated to work together as Chairman and co-chairman of the party in the Ward until the party conducted congress.
A minute silence was observed in honour of the falling hero late Academician and Marxist Scholar Hon Dr Influence Osagie who passed away in June 2024.
