In their collective commitment to ensure sustainable development l, security of life and properties, the Ankpa Local Government Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), Stakeholders has unanimously approved and endorsed the incumbent Caretaker Committee Chairman, Engineer Ademu Muhammed Yahaya as the flagbearer of the party for the slated October 19 Local Government elections in the State

The endorsement was announced during a stakeholders meeting held at the Halims Hotel Lokoja on Tuesday, 23rd July, 2024, where the APC Stakeholders unanimously adopted Hon. (Engineer) Ademu Muhammed Yahaya as the candidate of the party in upcoming the Local Government Election, scheduled to hold on the 19th October, 2024.

The Ankpa LG APC stakeholders meeting was presided over by Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, the Rector Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja and was attended by the following critical stakeholders from the Local Government:

(1). Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Alih, Member Representing Ankpa Federal Constituency cum Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives.

(2). Hon. Ishaq Musa, Zonal Organising Secretary of APC.

(3). Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu, immediate past Chairman of Ankpa LGA.

(4). Hon. Momoh Rabiu Alfa,SA to Kogi State Governor on Legislative Matters.

(5). Hon. Ahmed Muhammed, former Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly.

(6). Hon. Lawal Akus, Member Representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly.

(7). Hon. Abbas Ibrahim, Member Representing Ankpa II State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly.

(8). Hon. (Engr) Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, Caretaker Chairman of Ankpa L.G.C.

(9). Hon. Idris Musa, former Kogi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports.

Meanwhile, Hon. Ayuba Nana, former LGA Administrator and Special Adviser on Security Matters (Ankpa Federal Constituency) sent his apology for not been able to attend the meeting due to official engagement.

The major highlights at the meeting is the spirit of party-men demonstrated by other contenders who voluntarily stepped down for the overall interest of the party and Ankpa LGA for unity and cohesion and the consequent adoption of Hon. (Engineer) Ademu Mohammed Yahaya to be the sole candidate of the party ahead of the Primary and general election, include:

 

Rector Ogbo appreciates Kogi Gov’t, governing council, students, Kogi Poly management for their support as Gov Ododo renew his appointment

-Hon. Ibrahim Muhammed (Ayuba Nana).

-Mr. Aminu Haruna.

They are all in sincere agreement with the party decision and pledged to stand by the party and as well work for its overall interest in winning the election and move it forward, by His grace.

The party, therefore appreciated all the contenders for their understanding and worth emulating actions taken, noting that with this development, the
All Progressives Congress (APC) has no divisible and phobia intentions anymore.
