Dogara emerges new FCT PDP chairman

The new FCT PDP state chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Ismaila Dogara alongside other executives take their oath of office after their affirmation in Abuja on Saturday.

Mohammed Yakubu Dogara has emerged as the newly elected chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the FCT during the party’s delegate state congress.

Dogara, a former Kuje area council chapter chairman of PDP emerged through affirmation during the state congress which held at Apo town hall in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on Saturday, and monitored by the officials of the INEC led by the resident electoral commissioner in FCT, Mahmud Isah, and presided by the electoral committee chairman of the congress, Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq as well as representatives various security agencies.

Among other newly elected state PDP executives that emerged through affirmation were, Mohammed Babaji Madaki, deputy chairman, Mahmud Mohammed vice chairman 1, Adamu Aliyu, vice chairman (III), Rabo Lucky Iyah, state Secretary, Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, Organizing secretary, Alhaji Idris Gana, treasurer.

Others were, Mohammed Aruwa Dafa, financial secretary, Danjuma Dangiwa Yohana, Josephine Splendor, publicity secretary, Emmanuel Amen, assistant youth leader, Baba Danjuma, assistant secretary (I) Rabiu Mohammed, assistant Auditor, Abdullahi Mohammed Haruna, assistant publicity secretary. Mrs Abigel Etsu Kwali, assistant woman leader, Abdullahi Abdulsalam, assistant Organizing secretary (1) Hajiya Maryam Abubakar, ex-officio and other executives.

In his speech, the leader of PDP in FCT, Senator Philip Aduda, while congratulating the new state PDP executives, noted that the congress marked a new dawn for the party in the territory.

Aduda, however, appreciated the FCT minister Nyesom-Wike, for creating a conducive environment for the party’s smooth activities in the territory.

In his acceptance speech, the new FCT PDP chairman, Alhaji Ismaila Mohammed Dogara, appreciated the party leader and stakeholders for finding him worthy and other executives to pilot affairs of the party in the FCT.

He assured that the PDP under his leadership will ensure it unite all its members and supporters across the six area councils abs and make it continue to wax stronger ahead of the party’s victory in 2027 general elections.

Our correspondent report that the new PDP state executives were administered an oath of office at end of the affirmation.
