National Youth Games: Oghenesivbe Confident of Delta’s Victory

The Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has appealed to Deltans to turn out en masse to support their state team as the 8th edition of the National Youth Games begins on Thursday, September 12, in Asaba, Delta State.

While addressing journalists on Tuesday, Oghenesivbe acknowledged Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s pivotal role in providing requisite resources and support, thereby substantially elevating the morale of the state’s contingent.

He expressed confidence that Delta would retain its title as overall winners, urging participants and officials to make the most of the opportunity to make new friends and enjoy their stay.

Oghenesivbe assured visiting officials and team members that they would receive the best hospitality, citing the state’s reputation for warmth and generosity.

He noted that Governor Oborevwori is youth-friendly and committed to ensuring a successful event.

“Delta is ready to host the 8th edition of the youth national games.

“We welcome our guests and visitors. Our athletes are the best, and as current national champions, they will emerge again as overall winners.”

The games will take place from September 12 to 19, featuring over 5,000 athletes from across Nigeria. The main venue will be the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.”
