As electorates in Kogi local government go to the polls to elect their next executive chairman and councilors from 11 electoral wards, Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, Kogi State Executive Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, predicts a landslide victory for the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi Local Government Area.
Barr Tanko expressed confidence in the electoral process shortly after casting his vote at the Osuku polling unit in Koton-Karfe South East ward, citing the present administration’s capabilities and commitment to transparent governance.
The award-winning legal luminary and former Chief Administrator of Kogi LG noted that the people of Kogi Local Government now fully support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the APC at the central, state, and local government levels.
The State Civil Service Boss observed that the area has witnessed unprecedented progress, with the populace showing a strong desire to vote for APC candidates, from councilor to chairman positions.
He stated that numerous opposition members have defected to the ruling APC, thereby enhancing its chances of victory.
Barr Tanko praised the peaceful nature of the political development across the State, specifically highlighting the exemplary conduct of voters, security personnel, and major stakeholders.
He particularly commended the Electoral Commission, specifically the State Independent Electoral Commission, SIEC, for their impartiality in upholding democratic principles.
“Through my statewide engagement, I have received encouraging reports confirming that voters came out en masse to elect their preferred candidates, and I am convinced by the feedback.”
The renowned legal expert, a recipient of several awards, promised the APC will guarantee equal treatment to the defectors and urged those who have not joined to do so promptly to reap the benefits of democracy.
Barr Tanko visited zones A, B, and C in Kogi LG to monitor the ongoing elections in the three districts.
